I'm 14, in High School, and on a 19U girls team three hours from my house. A bunch of the girls have a face book, and we all take lots of different pictures on our away weekends. I myself take close to two hundred (not by myself, my parents do too).

So, I would like to know all about it. Please, I would like to talk to my parents about getting one, but I have no idea where to start! What are some ups and downs of the site? Is it safe? Is it hard to use?

Tell me all, please and thank you!!

Facebook is a lot of fun. If the trend continues, you will probably get facebook sometime because when you get to college it seems everyone has it.

Facebook is a cool way to share your photos. You can put them on the website and then tag yourself and others. You would be able to look at all your friends pictures too.

It is safe as long as you are wise about it. You can choose who is your friend and who isn't. Also you have to join a network. For instance, the network is your high school or hometown. The automatic privacy settings are that only the people from your network that are not your friends can see your profile. But you can change your privacy setting and make it so only your friends can see your profile. You can also decide if some of your friends should only see your limited profile. For instance, if you don't want your certain friend to see your pictures.

The down of the website is your friendships at times can be web based but this also happens with myspace and on aim or msn. When you look at others profiles you learn a lot about them. Which this could be an up or down.

The website is really easy to use. It doesn't have to take that much time in your life. But watch out it can be addicting.

Just go to facebook.com and click on register. If you want to get a preview of what facebook is like you can click on Site tour and the left hand side. This goes through five different aspects of facebook; one is privacy.

i heard high schoolers could have facebook now but i prefer to use myspace. you may be better off asking for a facebook though cause myspace gets a lot of bad rep cause of the child preds.
