we have had a couple of dances at our school and my friends say that i always look beautiful. but the guys never ask me to dance. i don't grind and i made it clear to the guys at the last dance when i told them. so instead some of them wander over to my friend who is willing to grind. then, when it comes to slow dances, they will ask me. im really tired of just dancing slow dances with them. waht can i do?
this is also completely irrelavent to my former question, but some of the guys call my same friend nasty names and she knows it, yet she's still dancing with them for the "attention" she says why?

ok, at a school dance theres only two types of dancing, grinding and slow dancing. If your not going to grind then your only option is to slow dance. I think that you should just go ahead and grind and have fun with it

Don't give into peer pressure.....you have respect for yourself and you shouldn't compromise that. Your friend has low self confidence and that is why she does whatever they want her to.
At any dance there are wall flowers. I would suggest making your goal to just have fun. Scan the room and find a shy guy who is not asking girls to dance....go up and as him to dance. There is nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy. In this society there is also nothing wrong with a girl dancing with a girl (although two guys is considered questionable). So.....put yourself out there and do some asking....and keep saying no to grinding :)

Next time go ask one of the boys if they would like to dance? If one of the boys will fast dance with you,ask him to save the slow dance for you!They want to slow dance with you because they think that you are "Hot"! The guy who gets to slow dance with you can brag that he just slow danced with a Hot Babe! As for your friend,sounds as if she is insecure!

dance with a friend show the guys you can dance w/o grinding and you are fun to dance with, they think you are kinda held back and cant get loose show them you can, they like you for a girlfreind her for a one night stand, they call her nasty names cause she acts out for attention. they know she'll do things though, such as grind, she likes attention and they like a wild girl.

Stick to your convictions. Don't worry about people say about you, or your friend for that matter. It doesn't sound like these are guys worth knowing if they will only dance with you if you are willing to grind.

Well, why don't you ask them to dance? I know, it will feel awkward at first, but who cares? And if the first guy said no, don't get discouraged and ask another (but don't sound to desperate!)
Oh, and as for your friend, shes asking for attention to feel specialer than everybody else. She wants to feel like "top dog" I guess you could say!

I agree with Wendi lu who and the one who said dance with yourself, I say if a man can't approach me then he doesn't want me enough. If he doesn't want me that much, I have no use for him.

dance by yourself!!! life is too short to wait on another persons mood or wants. if you want to dance......dance your heart out. if a guy truly wants to dance with just (you). then it will happen.
