Here's the simple concept which the media market and the exercise market are well aware of which many everyday consumers are not aware of....In order to lose weight/fat...you MUST perform anaerobic exercise.

The infomercials of many of these exercise programs and equipment are well aware of that, but try to sell you on their product as the one to help you lose weight/fat.

Yes, pilates is a good workout for "toning" the body. But in order to view the results of a toned body, you must eliminate the fat. Pilates is not an anaerobic exercise to totally burn fat.

As with any form of exerted exercise which make the muscles tone or build, it is a benefit in assisting the body of assimilating fat (burn fat). But it is not the main ingredient to burn fat. That's were anaerobic comes in.

Therefore, to properly lose weight / burn fat, you are required to perform anaerobic exercises. There is no other effective way. Pilates, along with other aerobic exercises and equipment will "help", but can not do it alone.
