It shouldnt take long to actually "plan" the wedding often people make it a lot harder than it is..The hardest part of planning the wedding is deciding where everything will be and making sure those places have openings on the dates and times you need...Most people have always had some thoughts on the wedding they want. Too often people make it harder than it is..Just relax, think of what all you want, and then put it all together and you have your wedding...The first thing is knowing the date and how much you want to spend on the wedding. After that you can see how many people you want in it, which all depends on the amount of money you have for the wedding. I say close friends or family..Also, keep the same amount of people on each side..With your budget that will tell you if it will be indoors, outdoors, how many decorations etc...

You should start by knowing what kind of wedding you want, it would be hard to plan for something without knowing the facts. You have to decide how large of a wedding you want, where to have it, and if you have the finances to support your wishes. I plan to marry within the next year, and I already know what kind of ceremony I want, and where I would like to have it. I will start putting money aside for the final decisions now. I will be having the ceremony in a banquet room, which aleviates having to travel elsewhere for a reception, and hiring caterers. All I have to do is chose a date, a menu, and send out invitations. The banquet hall takes care of the decorations, and the cake. ( for a nominal fee, of course), but that's less hallse for me.

They have wedding planners you can purchase that go over everything you are going to need to do and it also gives you suggestions. In order to plan a wedding, depending on the size of the event....one would need a year to do it without stressing out and feeling pressed for time.

My guess is you just want to marry the girl, and you don't care if her friends are wearing violet and grape during the wedding or what flowers are on the table. Do you even know the names of more than 4 flowers. I'm assuming no since you are marrying a woman.

Let her worry about all that stuff, and you just act interested and helpful when she asks you to. Best way.

Also demand they kill and roast a sheep right there at the reception. Otherwise its not your wedding, it just all about her.

Dude, if you haven't already picked a "wedding date" yet, you are NOT really engaged, my friend.

Once you pick the date, then leave the details up to your personal preferences and choices. Honor your closest relatives and friends by having them in your wedding.

The size of your wedding will be dictated (obviously) by the amount you wish to spend.
Be happy. It will be YOUR day!

Start with your budget and go from there.

The longer you give your wedding, the better it will be. The more research and effort you put into the planning, the better you'll stay on budget.
