If the US calls its troops home, chaos will ensue as there will be no definite world superpower. A withdrawal would signal to the world that the US is no longer a military superpower, only an economical superpower. And now that other countries like North Korea and Iran have the capabilities to be nuclear nations, this world is now more dangerous than ever. We can't play the ostrich and stick out heads in a hole, and saying everything in the world is fine. The US should never have got involved in the first place, but it's too late to say that now. And the politicians both Democrats and Republicans know this and will vote accordingly.

What the Democrats are doing is what they realized from their GOP opposite numbers over the merely good 10 or so years. What is going round comes round. who're you aping by exclaiming that the Democratic leaders are utilizing the Iraq warfare for election and in no way win the warfare? change into it Rush, Ann, Sean or bill? It merely sounds like a number of the conservative hate radio clap capture.

Don't expect things to change drastically. Something of this nature is not able to be handled with the signing of a couple of documents. As most of the Democrats involved had a hand in getting us into Iraq, to back out in the way you may think would cast a very poor light on them.

Its not that easy. you cant just say its over and pull out troops in a day. You have to assure the safety of the men and woman that are there now. it has to be a planned withdraw that would take quite awhile to complete. to cut funding would but US lives in danger. I have family over there and as much as we want them home, We want them home alive and not in a body bag. so i want it done right. its a mess and messes take 10x the time to clean up as it took to create the mess in the first place.

They know that if they cut funding, it will be seen as an attack on our troops. They will not risk it with the election for President coming in 08!

They don't have the majority to do anything, better get used to our "War President" making war. He'll eventually get the country down to the Nixon era standards and then be impeached.
