Doug Flutie had played all season long until coach Wade Phillips started Rob Johnson for the last game. Initially Phillips said it was to rest Flutie before the playoffs, but then he came out the next week and named Johnson the starter for the Bills against the Titans. Then the Music City Miracle happened and everybody just forgot Flutie got benched. I mean seriously, Flutie wasn't having a bad season or anything. And then he plays every game until the final regular season game then gets benched. It seems like everybody forgot about this. I just wanted to see if anybody else remembers.

That was a bad decision by Wade Phillips. Flutie led them to a 10-5 record that year, but Phillips chose to start Rob Johnson in the playoff game. Flutie wasn't even injured.

Flutie was electrifying, he was a sparkplug on offense. The guy would run around and find his receivers and cause some defenses fits. Johnson was always a stiff wherever he played and a backup quarterback at best.

I think if Flutie had started that playoff, there would be no Music City Miracle. And I'm not even a Bills fan.

Yes I do remember this.

And during the off season after that year, Flutie and Rob Johnson were taking shots at each other. I believe it was "Playboy/girl" magazine in which Rob Johnson called Flutie some names. There was bad blood between both of them.
