First of all, let me make it clear for some of the baiters out there - I am neither for, nor against any temples or mosques or churches or gurudwaras or fire-temples (or whatever your place of worship is)

The argument of "but there's a mosque/ church/ temple elsewhere, do something about that first" is an argument I don't intend to get into.

It has no relevance here, so lets stop the religious debate of my worship place vs. yours. I don't care what religion - If it's not quite right, it's wrong. period.

In case you find a unauthorised structure, here are some of the things you can do: (additions/corrections welcome)

1. Write to the BMP Commissioner at commissioner@bmponline.org

2. Put in a written complaint to BMP regarding the unauthorised structure. They were to have a e-governance system with ability to lodge complaint over the net, there are some sketchy details here:
http://www.egovernments.org/Products/eGov-PGR.htm
http://bmponline.org/eGov-PGR/pgr.shtml

3. If that e-governance thing is a sham and you can't find it, contact one of the BMP commissioners at the following addresses and put in a written complaint:
http://www.bmponline.org/right2info/r2ienglish.pdf
Make sure you get a valid complaint number.

4. Give it a few days, sending regular gentle reminders to the commissioner, after that, use the RTI act, and write to or contact your Public Information Officer again. Quote your complaint number.

5. All the best. make sure you pray a lot before you do this (preferably in a temple built on authorised land)

Discuss with the Temple Authorities to relocate it. (Actually, it also depends on how big the temple is).

You know, in Bellary Road, there is a very Big Temple as well (in Byataranyapura). While the road was being widened, so many trees were axed, and so many Buildings Demolished (including parts of L&T Komatzu and Vanguard Software). However, the temple is still intact because of the size. Same is the case with a mosque as well (in Venkatala, nr. Yelahanka).

However, there was also a small temple blocking the way. This was, however, relocated.

If the Temple you mention is already there before the road was laid, you cannot do any thing. Otherwise you can complain to the Municipal Authorities. But be sure whether you are ready to antagonize the local community?
