I've posted a couple of questions re this problem now. I brought a tune from itunes and it's a M4p file,I want to convert it to Mp3 so I can put it on my mobile.I've downloaded a few different converters, but the closest I got was to converting 30 secs of the song. I have also tried burning to disc & ripping back to pc, but I can't burn it. (I think itunes are protected)

Yes, M4P files ARE protected. There are hacks out there, but the easiest way is still the best. You need to simply burn the song(s) to an audio CD (MP3 CD wont work), then import them back in as MP3. Check the import tab in the preferences. Set it to 160K MP3 format. Once done, you can transfer to your mobile device then delete the MP3 (if you want) from your computer.

The M4p file is a protected file which protected by its own license. Protected file means that you can legally play it instead of convert it. So legal program can not turn, say convert m4p files to mp3. However there is a program I use called ImToo, you can convert them.

have you ever checked that the data are in .MP3 format? iTunes has a habit of storing them in a different format. additionally, if the songs have been downloaded and purchased from the iTunes keep, you won't located those onto a properly-wide-spread MP3 participant, as they're take care of data that would desire to easily be better onto an iPod or iPhone. wish This facilitates.

What i do is play it-which is legal- but use a standard mp3 recorder to capture it while it plays. :)
SoundCapture (magicsoft) or WaveShaper (by nch) are free downloads that very well for that. :)
