Actually it does start at the top, but not Matt Millen.
It starts with William Clay Ford.
Does anyone remember the Colts (Baltimore and Indy) when they have Old Man (Robert) Irsey as the owner? Well, his son took over, and look at them now.
There are other notable examples of bad ownership in the NFL, or at least teams that have massive changes in fortunes when the owner situation changed.

There is no need for the Lions to win. The lost consistantly, and were rewarded with a brand new stadium. The continue to lose, yet still sell out every home game. Why should they put out the extra effort if they're already getting all they need and selling out every game? If people wise up and attendance drops, then they might address the problem.

I think the injuries killed them this year. They had more players on IR then any other NFL team. I think they have a very bad GM Matt Million that is where they are "screwing" up the most. They need a new quarterback, Kitna is good but he is not a proven playoff game winner.

geek49203 i so correct. It starts with Ford the owner. I would love to see somebody buy the Lions who really cares. Matt Millen should have been fired long ago; and shudda got rid og Harrington long before they did. BUT it starts at the very top.

Yeah gota go with UMMMMM Matt Millen. I think he and the owner gota a thing going on. So until The Lions get rid of em both, they will continue to be bottom dwellers.

Jon Kitna and his league leading 22 int's. If you look back on the Lions season you will see that they were competitive for most of their games except two. A lot of the games they lost were decided by one possession. Kitna's crucial picks in key moments kill them all year long.
