i am very sorry that someone could be that horrible to do that to your friend. it must have been a terrible ordeal. it maybe a good idea to tell the police your suspicions, there may not have been any cameras, but what is someone seen something or he doesnt have an alibi? your friend deserves to take revenge on the people who did this but he doesnt want to be the one locked up does he? you have to go around it the right way, if i was you tell the police your thoughts. i hope things get sorted for you.

I'm sorry to say that there's very little you or your friend can do. If the police don't have the evidence, there's nothing they can do. If they arrsted someone the case would get thrown out of court
Also, I agree with you that if your friend tries to get revenge then he is the one who will end up in trouble with the law - and in the long run it won't do him any good
As a friend the best thing you can do is encourage him to have counselling to help him manage his anger and other feelings so he no longer feels the need for revenge. Has he gone to Victim Support?
Fortunately, in the society we live iin people are considered innocent until proven guilty - and if that means that some guilty people go free then it is very difficult for the victims, but it is still better than living in a country where someone is guilty until proven innocent.
We just have to learn to live with the situation that sometime justice is not able to be done. we need to learn to get on with our lives. If you friend allows himself to get bitter about this, then he will just end up even more of a victim than he is already.
The best thing you can do is help him to move on to being a survivor rather than a victim - better for his state of mind.
hope this helps and hasn't been too rambling an answer.

MOVE!! Dont stay were u are, move far way and make sure your are not followed by anyone and keep a close eye out. Dont let your friend go places which are dangerous and make sure he doesnt get so angry that revenge is the only way to solve this.
