They are pretty inter-changable now. I think rap has more spoken word and less singing...but there are lots of cross over songs now.

its rap when you utter words without minding the tunes and notes of the song
pop is is just a phrase coined to describe currently popular music such as rap, country, rock, alternative, etc. Actually, it can almost all be classified as a form of "Pop Music"

You gotta be kidding. I love a lot of pop, I abhor rap (which isn't music as far as I am concerned. It's reciting lyrics to a rythm)
