Yes, look for the controls on your monitor!

There's two ways of doing this,
firstly (the easy way): On your monitor there will be a button or wheel that will adjust the brightness of the screen.
secondly (the slightly more difficult way): Open your graphic card program and adjust it through there. Google your graphic card for more info on doing it that way (and be warned, fiddling with hardware can break it if you don't know what you're doing!)

Hi, my monitor has 5 buttons only ~ auto, vol -, on/off vol+, and menu. I adjust my brightness/contrast by pressing MENU which give you the choice in the luminance picture menu.
Press MENU 2nd time which give you a choice of contrast/ brightness and the level of their settings in blue. Press MENU 3rd time which then switches the setting/contrast to to red ~ then you can move the volume+ or volume- control up or down to adjust to required level. Press MENU 4th time to confirm setting, it then switches back to blue. Press vol+ or vol- to go to next setting ie brightness Press MENU 5th time vol+ vol- Press MENU 6th time to confirm ~ both levels should be in blue. Every monitor is different, I hope this helps you. Best of luck

Can't see from this range, but experiment with the buttons on your monitor to see what happens. It might be that the downward pointing one does the trick.
