You need to check if your laptop already comes with wireless (WiFi - 802.11a/b/g) capabilities, and if there is a wireless router from linksys/d-link/netgear/cisco nearby (this area is also called a hotspot)

Manufacturers have different ways of turning on WiFi. HP laptops sometimes come with a button with and antenna sign. Click this on and a blue light comes on. Likewise in Acer/ BenQ, you need to hit Funcn+F12 to turn WiFi on. Once WiFi is on, you should see an icon in the Windows bar at the below right. right click it with your mouse and ask for 'view available wireless networks'. It should return a list (or just one network - your own). Hit 'connect'.

If your laptop does not come with WiFi, you can get a WiFi card that fits into your PCMCIA expansion slot. The rest of the process is the same.

I had a heap of laptops in the process the final 5 years and that i've got stopped getting computers anymore because of the fact there's a trick some agencies do with them. What they do is they positioned this element interior the computer so whilst that is purely surpassed the guaranty date that is going to cease working, forcing you to spend money having them restoration it or determining to purchase a clean one. yet another element is have self assurance it or not laptops are not made the way they was (sarcasm btw) so presently your computer is commencing off to age. you have additionally probable hammered it with the internet and all of that. yet maximum heavily!!! you computer is an acer!!! the main unreliable and dodgy computing device out. I used to get their computers yet I never will lower back. don't get yet another acer. i've got caught with apple products, yet whilst that could be somewhat high priced for you the subsequent superb is Asus and samsung.
