You need to check if your laptop already comes with wireless (WiFi - 802.11a/b/g) capabilities, and if there is a wireless router from linksys/d-link/netgear/cisco nearby (this area is also called a hotspot)
Manufacturers have different ways of turning on WiFi. HP laptops sometimes come with a button with and antenna sign. Click this on and a blue light comes on. Likewise in Acer/ BenQ, you need to hit Funcn+F12 to turn WiFi on. Once WiFi is on, you should see an icon in the Windows bar at the below right. right click it with your mouse and ask for 'view available wireless networks'. It should return a list (or just one network - your own). Hit 'connect'.
If your laptop does not come with WiFi, you can get a WiFi card that fits into your PCMCIA expansion slot. The rest of the process is the same.

enble wifi 1st thn click on connection icon in task bar .........it will show all availble networkz in range .......select ur network in tht list .thtz it
