The practice of clinical psychology is based on the principle that -- yes -- people can change and modify their behaviors.

If people were incapable of change.. then no one would ever make any progress in their personal growth.

Life is change.

yes I can
and I know they do
lets take a working girl from Vegas, just lets say
and they make the money they want and move out of town to maybe Miami, or some where in California and open up a legitimate business, and they get married and have children and join the PTA and all that..
it happens every day, same with guys who get into serious stuff on one coast leave and re-invent themselves on the other coast..it happens all the time
and non of the neighbors or workers they work with ever know who or what they are...just like the prisoner who escapes and goes to California and again marries and has children, no one finds out until something small like a bad traffic stop, then it is all over for them.. but some of them go on for thirty years before getting caught, and some never get caught.....

good luck

I do because I have. I used to just spend and spend and spend and now I'm very responsible with money. One summer during college I earned a total of $4,000 but it was all gone a month after college started back up. Now I have a savings account with quite a bit of money saved up.

Yes I do. The person has to really want to change, and be obsessed with changing in order for it to work though. They have to hate what it is they are doing that is wrong, and they have to work on it everyday.

There are plenty of people who "intend" to change, but never really try. Beware of these people, it takes time to be able to "read" people to know if they are sincere or not.

If you want to change, you can.
It must be a true want to change - not just wishing to change.
And it's not easy, ask anyone that has joined AA, NA, OA, GA, and I think there is even a group for people that spend more than they earn.

I don't think they can change who they are, but I do think they can change their ways (quit murdering, stealing, etc.) That is the same way with smoking and drinking. They can't change who they are, but they can quit what they're doing and become a good person.

Yes, I do, but only if they really want to change themselves. You can't change someone else. It must come from within the person him/herself.

Yes they can, but they really have to want to change.
Sometimes they have to hit bottom before they decide to change.
Our personality isn't carved in stone, it's written in clay so you can get rid of the old stuff and put in some new.
