I am going to be flying with my 4 month old baby soon... do they make travel size desitin (3 ounce container)? If so, where can I get it? If not, will security let me bring a full size tube on the plane?

There are 2 flights to get to our destination. I figure it will be about 8 hours from the time we leave home till we get to my mom's house. My baby doesn't have a diaper rash now (and she doesn't usually get them) but I am worried that she might develop one, and I wouldn't be able to do anything for her.

call the airport and ask. i got a few travel sized ones when my daughter was born, so they do make them. contact your dr or local hospital and tell them about your situation if they won't let you have an open tube on the plane, they might give you a few packets.

I've never seen a travel size desitin. I hesitate to tell you to squeeze some in a separate container because then it will not be identifiable. I wouldn't think you'd have a problem with bringing it on the plane.

How far of a plane ride are you taking and how bad is your child's diaper rash? Can you get away with not having desitin on the flight and just pack a regular size tube? It all depends on how many diaper changes you anticipate on the flight, but a few diaper changes without it shouldn't be an issue unless your child has/gets raging diaper rash frequently.

Why don't you call the airline and check about the baby stuff. i'm sure, since it's all baby stuff. you shld be able to bring along on a flight.

However, if it's the weight you're worried about (cos we all know having a baby means tugging a big bag around), then perhaps get some onto a small tub for your flight usage.

US has desitin in 4oz. But here in Singapore, we only have these in 2oz size.

Oh, by the way, if you're calling the airline, do ask them what else they can do for you and baby while onboard.

All the best to you, Enjoy ur holiday!

Call your pediatrician and ask them for a handful of sample sizes.
Also, I just saw a smaller tube of Desitin at Walgreens a couple days ago.

You can usually get small single use packets of it, check babys r us or inside any of those parenting magazines and little packages of samples you got while pregnant. Otherwise just buy some when you arrive at your destination.

I use them both and my son has sensitive skin and it hasn't bothered him at all. Go ahead, I'm sure it's fine. One seems more cream based and the other seems more oil based. Both do the same thing.
