I would agree with the answer above. I would add that the most likely reason the doctor could not give you a diagnosis is because the swelling masks the results of any tests they can do to test the ligaments and tendons around the knee. A sports medicine doctor or orthopedic surgeon are more experienced in these injuries and will be your best bet, but I would follow their advice because they are looking out for your best interests, even you are the MVP. If there is an athletic trainer you can talk to at your high school (if you're in high school) or at the tournament, they may be able to give you some more advice and exercises.

It is important that you stop the swelling. Immediately following the injury R.I.C.E. Rest-Ice-Compression-Elevation would have been the best practice to stop the pain and swelling.

Since it is still swelling, a cold compression wrap worn several times a day would be very helpful to reduce the inflammation and allow the MD to evaluate the injury.

Continued use of the wrap after exercise or any time the knee starts to swell is a good idea.

The body will generally heal moderate knee injuries if given time and swelling is stopped. Severe knee injuries need to be evaluated by a sports injury orthopedic MD.

Ice your knee alot and see if there is pain once the swelling subsides. If the game is that important, call the doctor and get a prescription for something heavy or take a Motrin and an ice pack and win the game!

Like countless the others, I hate to be a moist noodle, yet you unquestionably ought to have it looked at. in case you have torn something, taking part in on it (inspite of relax, elevation, ect) you could in basic terms do greater harm, which would be lots greater durable to restoration. it ought to ger worse over the years. examine it out and hear the scientific expert. i be attentive to the type you experience and the type you're annoying to be properly and play in the tourny. it incredibly is been awhile for me, yet I bear in concepts that feeling. :) do no longer rush it, do no longer push it, do no longer take opportunities...
