I helping a friend to clean up her older computer. I still works for web surfing,etc but it displays an annoying "Enter Network Password" prompt that halts the startup until you either click it to cancel or enter a blank field. I'd like to get rid of this prompt. How???????

You have to click OK on that prompt to enable networking (your TCP/IP connection)

So if you disable it you won't be able to use the Web, etc.

Good day. If i remember correctly. U have to go in control panel and click the Network option. Disable file and print sharing and try and see if u can get rid of "Network Neighbourhood" in one of the options. Check up Network neighbourhood in Windows Help and it will direct u to that option.Laterz!
