I tried this once a long time ago and found it to be somewhat disgusting and very messy, but I guess that would vary with the women. It was also very course. I prefer not to do it when a women is going through this and I would think that most women would prefer not to as well.

there's no mess if you do it in the shower. my gf says it speeds her period up by about a day
