do you think it endorses anti-semitism and makes it seem ok, or do you think it shows everyone just how twisted and stupid anti-semitism is?? (the latter was sasha cohen's goal...)

The movie was a COMEDY!!!
How many times have you heard african americans call each other the "N" word but if a anglo does it-it turns nasty. Jews talk about Jews, Italians talk about Italians, etc. - People have become TOO eager to promote their cultures and TOO thin -skinned when presented with the stereotypes that they, themselves, perpetuate.
MAny great comedians were able to ploke fun at their own race and culture- Don Rickles, Jackie Mason for the Jews, REDD fox and Chris Rock for the blacks, Freddie Prinze and that Rodriguez guy for the Hispanics- even a cerebral palsy victim made jokes and the handicapped for a while (remember that one?)
Adam Sandler sings that "CHANUKAH SONG"-
All meant in good fun!

I thought it was brilliant that Sacha Cohen, a jew himself made it a satire. It was absolutely hilarious and showed how silly Racists, Bigots and Anti-Semites really are! The Seen in the Hostel had me in tears! It definitely made me rethink some of the bias I held against Jews.

It worked for me and made me laugh!

I think he exposes anti-Semitism for what it is...ignorance. Although, I'm not certain that is will have a positive effect on the public in the same way he expects it to. Myself and my Jewish friends, both here and in Israel, find him funny, but we're about 50% split over whether he's doing the right thing. I'm Jewish.

I liked him better as, "King Julian" of the Lemurs in the animated film, "Madagascar".

Hi. I haven't seen the movie though I just heard about Borat but I do not like his character. Maybe it can be one reason that he just wants to show us how bad it is if someone is anti -semitic. It is actually bad. Maybe he wanted to show us a negative figure..

Sasha Cohen being a Jew himself, I think it was just a funny film in which someone is big enough to laugh at himself. Borat was great!

I think it ridicules antisemites. I don't know if a real antisemite would see it and think it supports their view - I think you'd have to be a real idiot to think that. But, IMHO, you have to be a real idiot to be antisemitic, so who knows.

I know that the TV character Archie Bunker, from the 70s, was supposed to ridicule bigots, but that a lot of bigots actually identified with him and took it as a point of pride to be called an "Archie Bunker". But Carol O'Connor played the part in a way that did give the character some humanity. You have to do that in a TV show because it's hard to watch a totally despicable character week after week for a long time.

But, Borat really doesn't have any redeeming characteristics that would make someone want to identify with him. Except for real morons. If morons identify with him and feel proud of their moronic antisemitism, then screw them. Who cares. They're pretty irredeamable.

I loved the movie and thought there was enough in the movie to offend just about everyone.
I mean, do people really think that Jewish women lay eggs?
