Try downloading a handset manager for your make of phone, then connect via the usb port with a usb cable for your make of phone. To buy the cable try ebuyer or similar retailers. :)

If you have a bluetooth phone you can get a bluetooth dongle, these cost about £10 and just plug in to a usb port. Some laptops have bluetooth as standard as well as wireless.

This is better than a cable because it is usually cheaper and if you get a new phone it will also work with that too. Each phone tends to have its own specific cable so if you don't get one with your phone you need to pay again.

One thing you may not be able to do via bluetooth is ugrade the mobiles firmware this normally requires a cable.

If you need a cable you should be able to buy one from a mobile phone shop or the manufacturers website for your phone, you can also download software for connecting your phone from there.

There are some small bluetooth usb dongles and require no external connections or power. Download the software for your phone from Nokia and click connect button.

It depends on which phone you are using, do you mean your phone to be used as a modem? or just to back up the phones data? you can buy the hardware or software needed at the manufacturers website.
You really must be more specific in your questions.
