At the stroke of midnight on New Years Eve I turned to wish my husband a Happy New Year but he turned to a friend and hugged him first. So I waited until he was finished for my New Years Eve hug but then he turned to hug someone else. I had to tap him on the shoulder and say what about me? It seemed I was the farthest thing from his mind. Is this acceptable?

Dump him.

Not acceptable, not a good way to start the new year, and he must be punished. Tie some twine around his balls and the other end to a door knob. Make sure the door is open when you do this. Now slam the door and tell him to never do what he did to you again. Believe me, he will start to give you respect immediately. Happy New Year!

Some guys are just kinda like that. They put thier friends first, keep in mind that the male is a very basic primal creature. We can communicate with grunts still ya know.

WOW, some want you to divorce him because he...

didn't hug you first when the new year rang in?

Sad.

Frankly, I do think it is a little weird. If that happened to me I would have just shrugged it off and hugged him when I had the chance.

He may have justbeen carried away at the moment. It may not mean anything. Ask him. Women are more conscious of this sort of thing than men are. Or, he could be.. you might be aware of something else. Just ask and talk it over with him.

are u asking for others' standards of whats acceptable!?

u are the one who should put up these standards.

i would accept it and probably even admire it that a guy hugs his best friend b4 me especailly if they go wayyy back.
friends last forever girls dont im sorry to say it.

however as much as i would nt mind such behaviour, it does not make it right in any way. its clear that u value the relationship more than u do especially if there were also ur firends around and u decided to hug him first.

it is clear that u expect more of him than he is willing to give.

bad signal

whatever u do dont keep it to ureslef but confront him calmly as sooon as possible.

Did you ask him? Men are wired so different then women sometimes you actually have to say to them exactly what you want. Don't assume anything yet ask him about his actions it is very possible that he really didn't think that it was so important to you.

Thats totally up to you, But I think its weird, I would be upset about that. Or maybe hurt is a better word. I just don't know what to say!

It seems a little strange to me he hugged his male Friend first, and not you.

I am sure it was noting intentional. Just a mishap. I would not take it so serious that I would allow it to cause hurt feelings. Just talk to him and tell him how you feel. And then let it go! Happy new year. God bless****

no it's not acceptable, seems as if you aren't the priority on his mind, and he put u last when he should have put u first. if one has to beg for attention and wonder why we are thought of as last, than we really have to look at the marriage, and decide if this person really loves us or not.
