I post this question here, only because of the higher percentage of trolls and nuisance postings.
1) Do you think that if enough concerned Yahoo users emailed/petitioned/begged Yahoo, they would monitor Yahoo Answers more with regard to nuisance postings?
2) Or do you think that Yahoo Answers is just a "failed experiment;" begun with good intentions but now sadly infested with trolls and other perverse vermin?
Yahoo obviously deletes postings, but in a seeminly capricious way.
Opinions?
I'm pretty sure this function was intended to be helpful for people; not just some chatroom litterbox.

Riiiiiight. Life's too short.
No point in wasting time here, asking SERIOUS, thought provoking questions and expecting to receive well-thought, mature answers....
Anyone remember that scene from "Animal House" where Belushi breaks the beer bottle against his head and then gives that WTF look?
That's how I see the attitude of a lot of young people today. They take nothing seriously.
Wait till they get a draft notice.....that'll sober 'em up a bit.

I very much agree with you. I received a violation notice this morning and I'll copy my reply below. I have tried to post it in the Forum for Wrongful Violations and Suspension but I keep getting a message that the page can't be found. Is this Yahoo's way of telling us they don't give a crap about us? Have they disabled the forum now too because they are getting so many complaints?

I received the following violation notice:
Hello ret_roch_cop (ret_roch_cop)
You have posted content to Yahoo! Answers in violation of our Community Guidelines. As a result, your content has been deleted.
Question: who really voted for Bush in the last Prez election??
Question Details: Face it bucko, Kerry lost because less people voted for him. Your biggest problem is that you believe that baloney they spew on CNN. Exit polls are notoriously wrong and I believe that you may be the only person in the world who doesn't know that.

Reason of Violation:Insulting Other Participants
I din't insult anyone. This asker posted additional info regarding CNN exit polls. EVERYONE knows that exit polls are notoriously skewed (DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN RING A BELL?), especially on CNN, a network that has been openly hostile to the President. I WROTE NO INSULT AND I INTENDED NO INSULT AND I WOULD LIKE MY POINTS RETURNED PLEASE.
PS
This is my thirteenth attempt to post this and I am continually getting a message that the page can't be found. There's something wrong with your system.

I approached this community as an "ivory tower for the masses", I quickly realized based on the types of questions answered and the content of the answers, that that is not what Answers really is. The bulk of Answers is, a recreational or venting venue. This is not to say that "quality" or thoughtful answers are unavailable, just that they tend to be the exception. It's not ideal, but not something I intend to concern myself with, and as a result I have adjusted and decided to have fun here.
Your issues, it seems to me are not confined to Yahoo Answers, they apply to society as a whole. One can either get upset and wallow in righteousness, or accept that, in general people care about those closest to them and not the impact of OPEC states switching from dollars to Euros to trade their crude. Life's too short.

It would be incredibily difficult to manage all the traffic that comes through here, I mean give them a break, there are millions and millions of postings a day. SInce it is a free service, you can't exactly make any money to pay enough techs to monitor this sight.
It is the responsibilty of the user to monitor themselves and others.
