Go to a bedding store (NOT A FURNITURE STORE THAT SELLS BEDDING AS A SIDELINE) and lie on different beds until you find one that's the most comfortable.Bringing your pillows from home will help you in deciding as lieing on the bed with you pillows from home will more accurately represent what sleeping on the bed at home will be like.Avoid the super bargain ones as they will wear out very quickly and become uncomfortable as for the mega dollar ones like the "sterns and foster" ones and the temprpedic ones if you have the money buy them. But you can often find a bed that is close to them in comfort and support for a lot less money.I recommend lieing on one of the mega dollar ones first then try the other ones second.

No other way to go: get a Select Comfort air mattress bed. Our king-size is actually two twins pushed together with separate controls, including the adjustable up and down option. We have had water beds, expensive mattresses, and thought about the Tempur-pedic bed. I'm glad we did not buy the last one. You will love the Select Comfort bed. It's expensive but worth every penny.

You will have to go and try them out. I suggest you buy a good brand and the most expensive that you can afford. A good mattress is very important to your back. I plan to buy a sleep number bed asap.

Go to the bed shop near where you live and ask the salesman if you can try out some mattresses. He/She will let you sit/lie down on the them for your comfort.
