The English calender? are you sure it was an "English" invention? I think you need to check your history books on that one.

Do you mean the Georgian calendar which we have the months and weeks of the year, or the christian one where we have so many years since the birth of jesus. because the muslims have how many years sice mohammed, so it is about 1600, and the jews have another one making it about 2500, and the chinese have an even older one making it about 3000, but the one we use is universally accepted and used officially
