Cause VH1 and MTV (worst station on TV now) certainly don't play music.

I don't know where you live, but my cable company has about 50 music channels that just play music. They cover every type of music imaginable and play 24 hours a day.
I agree, MTV and VH1 really went down hill fast. I never watch them at all anymore.

If you order digital cable you will get about 50 "music choice" channels that play different genres of music. Also if you have an HD cable box you should get an HD music channel called MHD. Which plays different concerts and music videos, sort of like all the music DVDs that you can buy at the store. It's very cool.
