when i put a disk into my cd rewriter, a game for instance the drive reads it and reads it really fast in speed at one second and slowly at the other time.is there a way to set the drive at the same speed all the time and how can you do this

All optical drives do that. They speed up as they read data into memory and then "idle" between data reads to save energy and extend the life of the drive. It's kinda like when you drive a car you give it gas when needed, but when you come to a stop light the engine will idle.

is the cd you are using a burnt cd, if slow youre burner speed is prob different from the game cd.
