tomorow is a national day of mourning for Gerald Ford's death, the banks and stock market are closed, but i'm not sure if the schools are closed.

It should be, but not all schools got the notice out in time, so they will be open (like for my daughter)

I think you either need to call or get on their website. I know that my daughter's school is open tomorrow (which was scheduled to be her first day back since being off since 12/21). But, I have seen that other schools in other states are taking the day off. So it depends on the state/district.

Yes they are. New Years Day is considered a national holiday, even the post office will be closed.
