Actually they look VERY MUCH like the ashes from a fire grill. Though you need to sift the bigger bits out. Some things will not burn in the incenerator (such as teeth, or metal pins, or screws that may have been part of a surgery) These, as well as finger and toe nails are removed before the body is incenerated.

They're almost exactly the same...except without the briquettes. During cremation, the heat is significantly hotter than a grill so ashes are finer.

They are a fine ash..softer than anything you've ever felt in your life. Kind of reminds me of volcanic ash.

No.. they are light grey in color
mostly fine particles, with a few quater size chunks
looks more like powered cement
