My guess... X-Men3 did pretty well in the box office, so I'm pretty sure they'll come back with a sequel.
As for Magneto, of course he got his powers back - the cure was only a temporary inhibitor of his mutation. Remember the blue lion-like guy... he got close to the child that the pharmaceutical company used to synthesize the cure, his hand looked human again, but when he backed away he changed to his former self - so it's not a cure, actually. My idea is that it's effects on the other mutants are similar, in the way that they are only temporary.
Xavier will be present in a sequel to X-men3 for sure, just that in a different body.

I think Magneto could move the chess piece because maybe the effects of the cure is only temporary or it may have all been just a dream. Remember that they show Professor Xavier talking through someone at the end. It has to be a X-Men 4 because how it ended I feel had to many unexplained twists and turns.

The significance isn't in what happened IN the movie as much as what happened AT the box office. If X-Men 3 does well, they've already got a draw to get you to watch it: How did Magneto regain his powers?
Now, about the movie: It could've been the wind moving the piece OR another mutant we haven't seen yet. If memory serves, Magneto had some of the strongest mutant abilities, so it's possible that even after the injections he still has SOME mutant powers remaining.
I noticed that too, but they only showed it for a second or two at the end of the movie. Good eyes.

Like other people have said, the cure was apparently not a permanent fix, which makes sense. Since the cure was based on (blood?) from Leach's body, after a period of time, it would naturally break down, probably in less than a month.
If you kept watching after the credits ran, you heard Xavier's voice coming from the body of the guy in Moira McTaggerts' hospital bed that the professor was talking about earlier in the movie, so you can count on him being alive (and walking) in the next movie. The others, Jean and Scott, are pushing up daisies. Not coming back without major divine action.
Will there be a next movie? Depends on if the box office for X3 was big enough to warrant a third movie for the people who bankroll movies.

Maybe because the cure is not really effective for Magneto so Magneto still has the power. You know, the producer of course wants to grab a big profit from X-Men

Even tho Magneto has been cure... i say there's still mutation in his body (since in tat movie they say tat u cant stop n choose the mutation).
Jean didnt died coz her type of mutation was the most powerful one, that saved herself from drowning.
I doubt there would be a 4th movie.... Coz pretty much half of them is dead (the professor, jean, scott, etc etc)
I hope they just end it as is... coz the ending is good already =)
