Lion.
The old Korean days did document all sort of animal fight.
Lion mostly come out winner of those fight with tiger.
When tiger go for the throat and found themselve not able to penetrate due to the lion' mane, they got confuse and lose the fight.
One general observation during this study was that the tiger often seem to growl at the present of the lion, feeling uncomfortable.
But lion just simply ignore it and stand up against tiger.
However, lion is not the ultimate beast in the world, but that is another question.

if you mean which is toughest then lions as no way can a tiger deal with living in the Namib desert but if you mean who would win in a fight i've seen what happens when watching a documentary about the two species in captivity. an accident occurred at a zoo where a lion and a tiger managed to enter the same cage and the lion doesnt stand a chance

Tiger would win against a lion. Reason: tigers are lone hunters and don't depend on assistance. Lions hunt together as a team and depend on each other to help. Both are nearly the same body weight.

All measurments are metric.

Male Lion Facts:
Weight: 150-225 kg (lgst captured was 366 kg)
Length: (including tail) 240-350 cm
Other Facts: Not much to tell.
Male Siberian Tiger Facts:
Weight: up to 350 kg (the largest captures weighed 423 kg)
Length: (including tail) 280 cm (lg'st captured was 370 cm long)
Other Facts: Just an extremely gentle swat of its paw could effortlessly knock over a full-grown adult man flat on his back.

The Siberian Tiger would most definetly win this fight. It is much stronger and larger than a lion.

Tigers (especially Siberian tigers) are much bigger and stronger.
There are no tigers in Africa and only a few lions in Asia so they are very unlikely to meet each other.
