It is possible for one of the lines to be lighter than the other. The most important thing is that the line is there. Are you using the First Response test? That is the one that I use, and when I got pregnant with my second child, one line was lighter than the other. If your test is positive, then you should call your ob/gyn as soon as possible. Don't wait for your missing period. You and your baby need to be healthy and safe.

im having somewhat of the same problem. When i took my first at home test, i was nearly 5 weeks pregnant. Positive result was there, but very light. 2 days later, went to the local health department and took another urine test. They even had trouble reading the results, but they confirmed i was pregnant. I was still skeptical so i took the EPT at home test whisch reads out either "Pregnant" or " Not Pregnant", It too said Pregnant. Now I am 7 weeks pregnant and have been concerned about my pregnancy because i have been loosing weight. i took ANOTHER at home test today, thinking the results would be really clear, but the same thing! A very faint positive! I would say that yes you are pregnant, but make that doctors appt. ASAP. i have one on the 10th of this month and after that, im saving my money with pregnancy tests. Blood work is the way to go! Good luck!

No, I would go as soon as you can. Those tests are very accurate. I remember when I found out I was pregnant for the second time (my daughter was 4 months old then) I took a home pregnancy test and though, like yours, the line was very faint, I took it as a positive result. To be sure, I went to the doctor and he told me that, when a test comes out negative, there's a chance that the pregnancy hormone hadn't begun its development yet, which is why they reccomend retaking the test.If it comes out positive, with even the faintest of lines, they aren't qrong because the tests read your hormones levels and look for the pregnancy hormone. I don't want to get your hopes up, I'm not a doctor but I think you should go and confirm your results with the doctor and ease your mind.
Good Luck and Happy New Year

I had the same a very faint line. I went to the doctors and they did a test which came back a weak positive. They told me to wait a week and test again. I did and the line was a lot darker. Im 8 weeks now. Good luck

With my first pregnancy I took my tests at night and I had bright positives. Second time, took them at night again and I still had positives. You will not be any less pregnant at night then you were inthe morning. The only thing is your urine may be a little diluted, so hold the bathroom for about 30-45 minutes then go test. THats what worked for me.

They are very accurate, but there is a chance they could be wrong. Two tests being positive though pretty much says it's right. Even if the line is light it is still a positive. Pregnancy symptoms can be similar to period syptoms. Wait to see if you start, if not, congrats!

Same with me, I took a test like 5 days before I missed my period and there were two lines, but one was light. I was told if there are two line no matter the darkness, or lack of, the hormone is there. I am now almost 8 weeks pregnant now. Best of luck and hope all goes well for you.

I took two pregnancy tests before my period was even due and it doesnt matter how faint one line is it still means you are pregnant im almost 6 weeks and seeing dr tomorrow to confirm it. If you can wait till your time of the month then wait but if your anxious id just see the doctoer.
good luck

Sounds to me like you are pregnant, even a faint line is a positive. Also, my biggest symptom, that early on, was my mood swings. I always get a little cranky before my period, but I felt like I was going crazy before I found out I was pregnant. I even cried one night when I had a terrible waitress when we went out for dinner. Congrats and Good Luck. BTW I am now 5 months pregnant.

its up to you when you want to see a doctor for an accurate test. I personally took three tests. Two were negative then i went and got the "clear blue" test that was accurate. Good Luck and Happy New Year!
