Please help a semi-naive aussie understand something.

Is the maximum ammount of time a president of the United Stated can be in office?

Is this maximum term affected by war? Is it able to be extended?

so if the maximum term is set at eight years, then is there any other candidates who wish to withdraw troops from Iraq and end a war that can not be won? and pushes green technology (or at least will consider the kyoto protocol)?

4 year term.
re-electable one time, so a total of 8 yrs max
not changeable, not even in war

Eight years: two four year terms. This can never be changed, even during war.

as of right now, you can't serve more than 8 yrs, but don't be surprised if g w tries to change that.
