I was not sure if this was normal, but, from the answers I guess it is. I can be sleeping and it is like every muscle Contracts or Spasms. Usually it wakes me up and then I go back to sleep.
I am glad you asked the question. I never thought to ask.

What happens when you go to sleep, this is theoretical, is that the brain is 'disconnecting' from the voluntary muscle system so that when you are having a dream you are not kicking around in your sleep, swimming, whatever.
When you are going to sleep you are in between two states of muscle control and thats why you kick sometimes when falling asleep.
/I personally believe this is why you have dreams where you can't walk or run anywhere.

yes, when you go to sleep, your body eventually gets paralyzed, this is to protect you from acting out your dreams and hurting yourself. If your super tired and start dreaming right away, sometimes you'll jump before your body geting into the paralyzed state.

I think it happens to most of us when we are stressed out or
really tired.It is a weird feeling and its like you are going to fall.
