Ok, maybe a silly question, but they are an important everyday item and we use them every day. I have my own favorites and am wondering about what other people like in a toilet seat. Ex: round or elongated, plastic or wood, white or a favorite color, closed front or open front, highly contoured or not, etc. If you could have a custom made one, what would it be like, and so on. Our family used to like the soft padded ones but they don't last.

i got a new toilet seat from my nan for christmas (yes it was unopened in a box!!)
i chose a wooden one because it matches the beige colour of my bathroom and its less cold to put your bottom on on those cold winter mornings.
if i had a custom made one, it would be a big armchair toilet so you could sit back and watch telly in comfort while weeing.
i cant believe you're so interested in toilet seats... I cant believe I am!

OK, YOU ASKED FOR IT!!
You may not believe this, but I have a U shaped, elongated one that wears tube socks.
Yes, that's correct, SOCKS.
The reasons are plain, so I'll give them to you.
1. Many toilet seats have taught me that wood is the only sturdy and lasting seat..
2. Mine is white, just because I wanted a basic color so I could change colors in curtains, towels, etc. as time went by.
3. The elongated U shape is for ease in doing what needs to be done there without pressing my hand against the tight enclosure.
And finally, the socks...
Years ago when we were building our house, it was a cold winter. We stayed in a small camping trailer next to the unfinished house. The house was bitter cold, but it had this full size toilet...so much bigger and better than the little camper. But sitting down on the ice-cold seat was brutal. So, I got a pair of my husband's white socks and slipped them over the edges and onto that nice U shape. The difference was so great, that 10 years later, we still use the socks for comfort. Tube socks are great, and can be easily slipped on or off for laundering. Try it. You'll be surprised how comfortable it is. Saves the seat from wear and tear, also.

I have four toilet seats in my house, they are all different style toilets. My favorite one is the elongated, white wooded one. My brother had the padded one they just seem germy.

We get exhilaration from the hummers, yet they did no longer return this 365 days. we've a bumper crop of gold finches, the occasional blue jay and 2 cardinals. we adore all of them... different than the starlings and grackles.
