depends when it leaks. if it leaks right out after adding, without starting the engine, then it may be something simple like a hole in the trans pan;like you ran over a lg. object on the road, and punctured the pan. easy, inexpensive fix, most of the time. if it dont leak until you start the engine, then it may be torque converter seal, or a cooler hose/pipe. if it's a cooler hose, still not too bad,$$-wise. if its a seal, purty big bucks.

Sounds like you blew a tranny line.A leaky gasket would'nt pump it out that fast. Highly unlikly that you cracked a case. You should'nt have to take out a second morgage to fix it.

If its the pan, I have used bubble gum, with JB weld it over it,till I could get it fixed better.

If it's losing that much fluid quickly, I would bet it would be as simple as a broken hose line, shouldn't be a big deal. But if it is a whole in the pan then it might be pricey. Good Luck and Hope the rest of the year is better for you.

could be the trans cooler hose, that should be a cheap fix, if you blew out a seal that could be expensive and time consuming. I assume you havent run over anything in the road lately or jumped any curbs which could of pierced a hole in the pan of the transmisson.

i mechanic for a living, and own a shop, and what you just described to me sounds like one of the lines has burst open on it the repair isn't going to cost that much,as long as it hasn't hurt the transmission any,the line and labor shouldn't cost over 35-50 bucks to get it repaired and the fluid added back to it ,providing that's all that has to be done to it,,it might be alright once you get it back to the point to where it will hold fluid again, good luck with it,hope this help,s.,happy new years.

Most likely just a trans oil coolant line. You probably sprung a leak at a connection. Sometimes they break from vibrations. At times the hold-down clamps will wear the lines through.

sounds like you blew a hose- they weaken and bulge and often break near where the rubber hose enters the metal end. If you are lucky it is a low pressure return line that just fell off the fitting. Sometimes these use cheap clamps that fail.
