I have hypothyroidism and am currently taking synthroid. I also take the oral contraceptive Yasmin and I have had no problems.
I think as long as you are treating your hypothyroidism, there should be no problems with you being on an oral contraceptive.

My doctor obviously has no problem prescribing Yasmin even though I have hypothyroidism so there seems to be no safety issues.

Hope that helped!

Any woman who is hypothyroid should be medicated with thyroid hormone ( Synthroid ). At this time, there is no report, in the pharmaceutical literature, that I'm aware of, that Synthroid interfers with the action of oral contraceptives.

As long as your hypothyroidism is under control, there isn't a reason it would interfere with birth control.
