No we need to have society's opinions on some of the things that go on in private for if we did not then there would not be those who report someones husband for beating their wife or the for those who harm our children and enticing them into their homes
Having social rules enable us to look out for one another but also the down side is these rules allow people to presume they have the right to judge others who are old enough to choose their sexuality and preference this is is when social rule because over the top

probably not so equal for women. Mostly because men have the strength to do whatever they want. It would be like back in cavemen times when anyone could do what they want. Well I am still for that anyway.

It seems if the consenting adults keep their private behavior private, they are free to do whatever. It's when it becomes public that all hell breaks loose.
