The Democrats hold more seats in both the senate and the house of representatives.

House of Representatives:
Republicans: 202
Democrats: 233

Senate:
Republicans: 49
Democrats: 51 (One is an independent, Lieberman from CT, but he said he would caucus with the democrats)
