Nicknames usually just 'happen'. I knew a Laura who was called LA Law!

People have nickname usually because they're real name is too complicated or too long.
Laura already is short and simple.
I don't think the name Laura needs a nickname.

I have a friend whose name is Laura, but her nick name as a baby was 'Laurie.'
However, my name is Laurie and it never occured to me that it would be used as a nn for Laura.
Personally, I think Laura sounds beautiful and feminine. I wouldn't want to change it.

You`ll find the right name for her. One will come to you. Usually nicknames are givin that match there personality or habits that they have.
i thought i would call my son Macho man but then i had him and he is called Buddah or Buddahman or Buddahbaby cuz he has a cute round belly and hardly any hair and would always lay with his hands / arms acrossed his cheast and his legs would kinda looked like he was trying to sit indian style..
If all else fails call her "BabyBunks" I call all baby girls BabyBunks

Well my best friend Laura and her boyfriend Danny, call each other LorLor and DanDan. Another colleague calles her daughter Laura, Laurie (pron Laur-ee not Lorry).

my mates call me Lauz(lawz) lau(law) and lauzi(lawzie) bt my main nickname is blodzy beacuse of a lonstory and my first main acting role in a play bt my fave is lauz
