Actually my steam iron is doing exactly the same as yours. I have pressed the buttons for spray and the extra steam button and find the steam is coming out slow but sure.

Heat it up filled with water .Then go to the sink and depress the steam button Then fill again and try it .Hope this works for you

With something new, the likelihood is you have done something wrong, rather than the goods are faulty. Read the manual, and start again.

if its new enough and you know that its put together properly I would try to return it...could be a safety hazard to have it work improperly.
