I would pop them.
But the wetting them with water doesn't work cause we had a firework show last year after it was all over we let them cool down then we sprayed them with water. Well then we put them in the back of a truck and a few hours later they caught the back of the truck on fire.

Many cities have a hazard waste disposal center. See if there is one where you live And take them there!

please dont bury them. the chemicals in fireworks are hazardous and could leach into the water table. Call your local Fire Dept and ask them what your options are. Im sure they would appreciate it.

Maybe they'll let you sit in the fire truck.... sweeeeet....
