It's not true at all. Rape is a MALE phenomenon because MEN are the ones who overwhelmingly commit the crime. It indicates a defect in MEN, not women.

This is a tough question with all kinds of possible answers. I think that it is very true to a great extent BECAUSE our society through the years has made it to be this way.
Rape has been going on since the beginning of time. Boys and men as well as women of course, have been raped throughout time. The only difference is it was not talked about as much as it is talked about today.
The subject was taboo.
NOW you hear about it all the time. Mostly from and about women.
We all know that women are raped and more so.
Our men in our society still, I believe have a very difficult time coming forward with this and saying that they are raped. IT IS AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT THING TO PROVE.
Just think about how hard it is for some women to prove that they have been raped and multiply that by 100. Right?
Children are raped, now more than ever. Let us not forget that.
So to say that it is a female phenomenon is true. I wish it weren't
labeled as such, but it is and it probably will always be labeled this way.
Hope this helps.
Happy New Year

It is not true to say rape is a female phenomenon because it is not something that relates solely to females.

It is of course true to say that rape is a crime in which the victims are predominantly female.

It would be truer to say that rape is a male phenomenon.

Actually you are sort of technically correct as the Dictionary counts Rape as "forcing someone to have sex with HIM against their will" Therefore presuming that all Rapists are male. But it doesn't exclusively state that all the victims of rape are female, but i think thats the presumption. Obviously there are many cases where that isn't true, so thats kind of outdated. Depends how you want to look at it. I see Rape as forcing someone to have sex against their will, no matter what sex the Victim or Rapist may be.

Not at all, men get raped too but men often don`t seek help thinking that its shamefull to be raped by a woman or another man.

Below is a site to find help for men

DON`T deal with it on your own

From the victim's standpoint, it's predominantly male. This is because male victims of rape outnumber female victims of rape. But since most men are raped while in prison, society thinks it's funny.

I don't even know what that is supposed to mean. A person of any sex can be raped.
