The first and most important thing with regard to a resume is honesty. State your work histroy as it exist. As you are aware employers do like to contact a previous employer to verfiy your work histroy. If the business is closed you still can use the name and phone number of your former supervisor. Worse case you will have to rely on character references of persons you know who are willing to give you a good reference.

A far more important question you might ask is, "What does an interviewer look for in an employment candidate?" And in my humble opinion, it is this: industry, honesty, loyalty, and "fit" or "team compatibility." Good Luck - r

On your resume, that last line of each employer should be a "Last Known Address" (or Phone Number for that business with a notation that they are out of business. YOU are what sells the resume, not the words, though. Good luck!

It doesn't reduce your chances. What you can do is put down some people that you worked with for contacts. Also add personal references, people that have known you for a long time. You can even put down a neighbor's name and use them as a character reference. Good Luck
