You need an exact same Battery as is in the iPod, Some way of prizing the iPod open(Carefully), and remember not to Damage the fine contact between Battery and Hard drive.

A Mail order Company in the UK has Kit I have seen, and gives instructions.

You replace it when the battery no longer keep a charge Eventually, it will not last as long as it originally did That's when you replace it You can send it to Apple and they will replace it for a fee or you can buy your own battery replacing kit but that will void your warranty if its still under one

The ipod comes with a rechargeable battery, so i dont think you can replace it...

You don't change the batteries. You CHARGE the batteries through the computer.
