What form is more sound or grammatically correct... I'm confused because I see both Actor and Actress referred to a female movie/tv star. Which form is more correct to use?

Actress is correct.

It's only the past couple of years that some people have referred to them as actors and it's very annoying.

Actress. I don't understand why an actress would want to be an actor. Semantics.
