Well I think that somewhere in Arizona there's a town where they drop a big tortilla chip into a giant vat of salsa, but don't quote me on that.
I always thought the ball dropped too slow anyway....
*You could drop yahoo violation emails into an incinerator or something, but I don't think you'd find one big enough :)

Suggestions for New Year Celebrations include:
Central: As the Central timezone is the heart of the American Mid West,. how about going to Kansas City, Kansas and holding a Mid Western New Year Festival
Mountain: Light a series of beacons from the Idaho / Canada border down the mountain timezone to reach the Arizona / Mexico border
Pacific: Seattle's Space Needle celebrations would make an excellent hub for the Pacific coast.

I watched the ball drop as I usually do every year, while reading a book. The whole thing is so overrated , it is getting lamer every year. They show sucks big time , they all lip sync, the crowd is what it is,,a bunch of nuts that stay out in the cold for hours on end ,getting their pockets picked,no place to pee, acting like wackos,to see a ball drop made of Waterford crystal.
What would be really cool if the damn thing would actually "drop",like rush down that pole , slam to the ground and then fireworks would start.
I say ,stop that damn ball, make up something new. What I don't know, but that's something we could all think about and make something like a new tradition here on yahoo and 360,and next new years eve all we buds do the same thing at the same time , no matter what time zone and that will be our new year...how about it?
For you folks in Tennessee...how about watching Dolly Partons bra drop? While Elvis says..."thank you...thank you very much"
Wink...Happy New Year

I think I watched that show on TV maybe twice in my lifetime. And that was when I was on Eastern time. I always thought, what the heck is that nonsense all about anyways. Could never understand the whole thing and yes it is overrated and idiotic. Certainly there are better ways to ring in the New Year. To me, a private party somewhere with all your closest and most intimate friends is what does it for me, no matter what the time zone.
Happy New Year Dee...smile

Why does anything have to drop? Haven't you ever just watched the clock and counted down, or turned on a radio for the countdown? A shiny ball falling slowly on a pole isn't necessary for the changing of the years you know....
