You need a graphics card with a TV Out jack just as on a desktop. Then you would need the Coax cable with the correct ends for your TV and the Computer jack.

If your laptop has a s-video output, you can make use of a s-video cable to connect to your tv, provided your tv has one (most tv shud have) and connect the audio output to the tv as well. That is how I connect my desktop to tv...
