Ok, so I will get the thumbs down for saying this.
Peoples have moved from country to country since they found a way to build a boat.
Of course travel is easy now and the way into our country is open to all. We can still hold on to our culture and as far as I know you can still fly the Union jack and St. George flag. I do that every April the 23rd. Not many English people bother and yet the Irish, Welsh, and Scottish citizens are holding on to their culture and celebrate who they are.
What is worse for our country, is, if we become bullies and these people are then frightened to walk the streets. Yes, I do know there are some places where we are all frightened to walk in the dark. We need more policing to make this possible.
I like meeting people and if you get talking to the immigrants, they don't seem such a threat.

If it's colour, we are talking about, then that is sick, a sick society.
You judge a man by the person he is, not his colour.

I'm not a do gooder. I see things as they are. We moan about wars, what price war, if we can't get along with our neighbour...

What's more, it takes courage to come out and say this, because you know, you will be shouted down.

Not to say it, leads to the plight the slaves and their ancestors suffered in the American south, taken out as they walked the streets and beaten and often a far worse fate.

Rosa Parks stood alone, when she wouldn't give up her seat on the bus, expected of her, simply because she was black. I would have been proud to know her. Don't say that the immigration situation is different, it's not! It's having someone different from us on what we call our own land but we are one planet.
Do we really want a society like that? There is no way back, we have to get along, the world's changing and if we don't move along with, it we will be very unhappy.

I wait with bated breath for the big thumbs down...

However, I wish you all a "Very Happy New Year"!

Really, I'm not a do gooder, sometimes, I'm very bad!

Cassandra

The British way of life is under threat because it has become illegal to be British in our own country. I am planning to leave for New Zealand this year where although I will be an immigrant, I will at least be living in a country which retains the values that used to be so prized in Britain.

I'm not sure generalising like this helps, it just makes you feel threatened. There are lots of English born people living off state handouts. Immigrants are often motivated to work hard and they bring in skills. The emphasis on multiculturalism by the UK govt has meant that immigrants have been encouraged to retain a sense of their home country identity, that's ok as long as that is not at the cost of integrating. If they value home over their new country then that leads to ghettos and conflict. We are a melting pot, there is no such thing as a real Brit, acceptance, change and a resolve to get on with other people is what we need in the 21st Century.

No way. you're a minor baby, so in case you probably did not have a birthright to citizenship by being born to uk citizen mothers and fathers, and your mothers and fathers did not legally immigrate & receive naturalized citizenship for themselves & you, then you truthfully haven't any thanks to receive uk citizenship. possibly once you're an human being, you'll meet each of the mandatory skills to visual demonstrate unit for immigration. if so, then you truthfully can be conscious. If accepted, and also then you definitely meet residency and all different skills, you're able to change right into a naturalized citizen. or you may want to sensible up, comprehend the dire pastime market in uk, & come to a decision now to not immigrate to a grossly overpopulated, over-immigrated, grossly indebted usa with extreme taxes, extreme residing expenses, and few jobs! actual unemployment cost has been over 20% for no less than a decade or 2, immigration (fairly unlawful immigration) has impoverished the country, and now I listen 20% of uk's homeless are college grads who can't locate any jobs!

I agree...unfortunately most so called Brits make a lot of noise about it and then when they are told that they are being rascist and could be prosecuted they pipe down and accept it!

We should tear up the Human Rights Act, Leave European Union and let the other Nations take them...instead of allowing them to cross their countries to come here! What happened to 'seek asylum in the country you land'.....That's all OK for these European (corrupt) MEP's - French, German, Italian's etc etc that bleat about Human Rights and then when it's all on their doorstep it becomes a case of 'We don't want all the crap on our soil....let them go to Britain.

No definetly not. They come hear and become part of our society, even join in with our celebrations. They become British. They also bring their coultures which mix with ours and work out nicely. Britain is becoming more and more interesting through people around the world coming.

Much like the USA, liberalism has caused the downfall of your great nation. Never forget that liberalism poses the biggest threat to the well being of any country.
