my son is in second grade & was asked by his teachers to read 10 books during christmas vacation. he has read 4 books so far & has one more week of vacation. do you have any suggestions for books he may enjoy that we might find at our local library?

Wow - there are so many....

I am assuming he is reading on grade-level, and that you prefer short chapter books, rather than picture books.

Here are some SERIES that my students love:

Junie B. Jones
Cam Jansen
Jigsaw Jones
Fluffy the Classroom Guinea Pig
Polk Street Kids
Henry and Mudge
Nate the Great
Rookie Readers

That's off the top of my head -- I'm on vacation too!

It completely believe @jr Junie B. Jones are large for 2d graders nonetheless my little sis is a analyzing prodigy she likes Diary Of a Wimpy youngster, Mouse thoughts, Jigsaw Jones, The Bailey college youngsters, Cam Jansen, Cow lady Kate and Cocoa, Arthur and the Race to envision, 3 little Robbers, Piper Reed: military Brat, Henry and Mudge, Nate the large, The Fly guy, Emily and Alice, Frog and Toad, Chester’s way, Dinosaurs before dark, and an outstanding deal greater! :D

Classic, yet easy to read, and teach good lessons without being preachy.
