I don't believe in communism, but I would be okay with you studying the works of Karl Marx.
I don't believe in killing people, so I wouldn't assist you in murdering somebody.
It depends...

No, There must be a rock in your mind or in other words, something solid for you to beleive. If you are tossed around by every doctrine that comes your way you will lose your mind. To many people in our society have lost theres and are constantly on the verge of committing some sort of crime. You have the freedom to think what you want!
To one of these other responses I would like to say... he mentions a book of facts and says there you will find the truth! HA! Fact and truth are different! If truth were fact and fact is truth then why do we have two words meaning the same thing?
You must be clear in your understanding to conclude anything true and sane. If it contradicts.... then you must search further for the truth! Do not jump to a conclusion. Be smart and use your brain. It is easy if you are healthy because chemical imbalances can affect your mind and the way you think plus it makes it easy for you too think when you are healthy so please PLEASE be healthy and take care of yourself!
Once you have gathered information your can use your reasoning to make a sound judgment on what is the truth or facts! Good luck, (if there is such a thing as luck)!

If something contradicts with your foundational belief system can you actually be supportive of it without changing your beliefs?

It depends.
Those who can provide DEFINITIONS, are highly suspect.
Definitions tend to get played around with.
Usage of many, ordinary words in our daily language is oftentimes incorrect.
So, I would investigate anyone who contradicts an established belief, because they may be liars.
Established belief gets distorted over time.
Truth is seldom cared about nor discussed.

Although it may be contradicting with my beliefs, I won't hamper the others from approaching it. However, any idea may subject to exceptions if it's due...(so mazy...lol.)
